EMPLOYEE TIME TRACKING

A simple daily habit.
A record you can work with.

Make it easy for employees to record their day and for managers to understand it. Keep hours, breaks and work details together, ready for the next review.

For office teams, remote employees and independent professionals.
Free plan available. No card required to get started.

DESIGNED FOR THE DAILY ROUTINE

Give people clarity
at each part of the day.

Employees should know what to record and where to find it later. A consistent routine makes those details easier to review.

AT THE START

Clock in and get going.

Start the shift from the app or website. When work sites are enabled, select an assigned location or permitted remote work and follow the company's location-check rules.

DURING THE DAY

Keep breaks in the record.

With live break tracking enabled, start and end breaks as they happen. Company policies determine the available break types and how they count toward working and payable time.

BEFORE YOU FINISH

Leave a useful record.

Clock out and complete any required work details. Return to time history to review entries, check their status and address mistakes through the options your company allows.

YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM SETS THE RULES

A consistent process.
Configured for your company.

Authorized managers choose which optional features to enable or disable and configure the permissions employees follow. Keep the clock simple, or add the context and review controls your business needs.

Employees work within those choices. They do not need to decide which policy applies each time they record their day.

Choose the work details

Show, hide or require client, contract and description fields to keep entries relevant to your workflow.

Control manual changes

Choose whether employees can add, edit or delete entries. Use a correction-request workflow when changes need manager review.

Enable the right supporting tools

Configure breaks, work sites and reminders as needed. Set pay periods and use the available approval and period-locking controls.

CONTEXT MAKES TIME MORE USEFUL

Know more than
when someone clocked out.

A useful record connects the hours to the work, without requiring the same level of detail from every company.

Where the work happened

Use assigned work sites or permitted remote work. Optional transfers record a change of site within one open shift.

Explore work locations

Who the work was for

Associate time with a client or contract when those fields are useful. Add a description to help make a later review more meaningful.

How the hours are counted

Keep elapsed time, working time and payable time distinct. Recorded unpaid breaks reduce payable time; applicable overtime is classified under your configured rules.

WHEN THE DAY DOES NOT GO TO PLAN

Make a correction
with the context intact.

A missed punch or incorrect detail should have a clear next step. Employees can use permitted manual changes or submit a correction request when that workflow is enabled.

Managers can compare the original and proposed information, review the request and keep the decision in the record. Locked periods still need authorized reopening before protected changes can be applied.

AT THE DESK. ON THE PHONE.

The same employee routine,
wherever the workday takes you.

Employees can use the app or website to record time and breaks, review their records and request corrections. Company permissions and location rules apply to the workflow.

TIME TRACKING QUESTIONS

Know what to expect.

Looking for something specific about your company's workflow?

Ask us a question
Can employees add time if they forget to clock in?

When manual entry is allowed, employees can add the missing entry. If your company uses correction requests, they can request a change for manager review. The available actions depend on company settings, permissions and period locks.

Are breaks automatically deducted?

No assumed break is deducted just because a shift lasts a certain length. Payable time reflects recorded unpaid breaks. Your company can configure break recording and review requirements.

Can managers turn optional features off?

Yes. Authorized managers can enable or disable optional workflows and configure their policies in Company settings. Turning a feature off does not make existing historical records or locks disappear.

Does location tracking run continuously?

Work-site checks are tied to the configured workflow, such as selecting a site at clock-in or transferring sites. They are not continuous tracking. Explicitly permitted remote work does not require GPS.

Can an employee edit an approved or locked record?

Editing depends on company policy and the state of the record. Changes can require renewed review. Protected time in a locked period requires an authorized reopening before the change can be applied.

Does recording time automatically send payroll?

No. Recorded time is separate from review, payroll preparation and provider delivery. Managers configure the relevant workflows and review the information for the next step. TakeUrTime does not issue employee payments.
